frances Skrevet 16. oktober 2000 Del Skrevet 16. oktober 2000 My friend has just been to the legevakt with very heavy vaginal bleeding, she collapsed. She had a D&C and was let out again and told to rest & take iron tablets. Two days later she was rushed into hospital in the middle of the night with sever vaginal bleeding again - she felt like she was dying. They rushed her into theater and scraped out her womb, taking all the lining + a fibroid the size of a marble. Then she was told to go home and take iron (she was sykmeldt for two weeks). What we are worried about is that she was told that she probably couldn't have more children. She hasn't had a hysterectomy. There was also no further information about what to do or what to expect. She says that she is still bleeding very slightly, but she has a new period coming soon. How much does she have to take of this bleeding? She was also told she might stop her periods totally. She feels really frustrated because she was very scared at what happened and even more so at being left with no 'AFTER' information. Do you have any advice? She can't use the pill or hormone coil because her family has a lot of breast cancer present and she has a 85% of getting it herself. Are there any organisations that she can get in contacct with (Eng/Nor), or support groups she could chat to? She is also British. 0 Siter Lenke til kommentar https://forum.doktoronline.no/topic/6863-fibroids/ Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
Gjest Lege Nina Lindstad Skrevet 17. oktober 2000 Del Skrevet 17. oktober 2000 To frances. Fibroids, or myomas inside the uterus might cause severe bleedings and pain. Most probably, her bleeedings will turn to normal again, and stay so. Most women who get myomas removed can get pregnant later, unless certain parts of her uterus is destroyed. Only her surgeon can tell her, or maybe new ultrasound investigations. I am not sure if there are any support groups for myomas/fibromas in the uterus.
