Hi. I hope writing in English is not a problem? I can read/understand Norwegian no problem, but writing is still a challenge.

I am a 56 year old woman who started Trisekvens a few months ago, maybe 4? I think I missed a pill or two, but now I have breakthrough bleeding/gjennomblodning which has lasted for nearly 5/6 days. I am on the blue section of Trisekvens just now. Is there some ways to stop this bleeding ?  Is it necessary to change pills? I have also used vaginal insert capsules (0.5% estriadol?) about 2x a week, but not consistently ( I heard dosage was too low to be absorbed by bloodstream). What is causing this breakthrough bleeding? and how can I make it stop now? Since I travel often, and trying to arrange timing w/partner, it becomes problematic. Thank you for your help. B. K.

There are more explanation for unexpected bleedings with Trisekvens. If you skip some of the white tablets, it will induce a bleeding (a withdrawal bleeding). When did you have the last bleeding before you started on Trisekvens? If you still have some hormone production, it might interfere with the cyclus of the pill. It the bleeding continues, you need a gynecological examination to exclude bleedings from the cervix (livmorhals).

Actually, there is nothing you can do to control the bleeding.

PS other hormone replacement work in the same way, so no need to change.
